A FEW YEARS AGO I READ A BOOK CALLED YOU CAN HEAL YOUR LIFE BY LOUISE HAY. IT WAS AND CONTINUES TO BE ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT BOOKS I’VE READ IN MY LIFE AFTER FOOTBALL. THE TITLE SAYS IT ALL. 

IN THIS SECTION I WILL PASS ALONG TO YOU THE FOLLOWING AFFIRMATIONS THAT I’VE BORROWED AND GATHERED FROM THAT BOOK AND OTHERS. I USE THESE AS A PART OF MY DAILY PRACTICE. THESE AFFIRMATIONS CAN BE THOUGHT OF AS PRAYERS, BLESSINGS, AND MANTRAS. 

DON’T GET IT TWISTED - THIS IS NOT SOME CLICHÉ SPIRITUAL MUMBO JUMBO. POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS HAVE TO DO WITH REPROGRAMMING THE MIND. YOU CAN RECITE THESE AS A PRAYER AFTER YOUR MEDITATION, AS A MANTRA WHILE ON WALKS AND/OR ANYTIME YOU’RE ALONE AND FEEL YOU COULD US A PICK-ME-UP. THINK OF THE RECITAL OF THESE AFFIRMATIONS AS TAKING A STEP INSIDE YOUR PSYCHO-SPIRITUAL DOJO. YOU ARE STRENGTHENING YOUR MIND AND SPIRIT TO BE MORE RESILIENT, TO RECOGNIZE WHAT TRULY IS AND TO GET YOURSELF OUT OF THE SYMPATHETIC NERVOUS STATE (ANIMAL MIND/FIGHT OR FLIGHT). 

SAY THEM TO YOURSELF AS MUCH AS YOU NEED TO, ONCE A DAY OR A THOUSAND TIMES A DAY. ONCE IMPLEMENTED INTO YOUR DAILY PRACTICE YOU WILL QUICKLY NOTICE THE DIFFERENCE IN YOUR OVERALL MOOD AND SENSE OF WELL-BEING.
